    There are various raws, but we encode using the transport stream - which isn’t out yet.

    If [ASF] released .avi versions of this series before, then assume that they will release the episodes in .avi form eventually.

    But seriously. Watch it in the HD release. Why would you want to watch .avi of all things lately these days?

    I’d love to be able to watch the HD, but my old processor barely handles .avi and chokes on .mkv :-(

    Crowcrow, it’s not the extension itself, it’s codec required to decode the video. Since the mkv container is usually used with h.264 video streams, that’s why it uses more cpu to play them. It’s possible to have xvid in an mkv container. (like our da capo release)

    Well, I’m using an old iMac running Quicktime on OS9, so it can comfortably handle DivX or Xvid codec .avi files around 700 x 400 or less. OS9 won’t handle VLC or MPlayer, so h.264/x.264/.mkv are out of my reach (Embarassing since I’m also a manga scanslator) ;(>_

    Just for kicks I downloaded the transport stream for this episode (all 2.2 gigs of it-sigh) and encoded it into h.264-my god-I forgot to deinterlace it-talk about the jaggies! I played it raw and talk about beautiful video-WOW. But for me it’s an awsome series-keep up the ggod work guys.
